Program Logistics

Duration: Programs are 60 minutes (but can be adjusted for shorter class periods)

Age Recommendation: Programs can be modified to meet local, state, and national social studies standards for grades 4-12 (see a sample of program standards here) and varied leading needs. Please make sure to tell us about your units of study you want your Green-Wood program to align to when you book.

Group Size: Each program can accommodate up to 35 students plus educators. Family members and at-home caregivers may participate as well through their students’ accounts.

Schedule: Programs are offered between 8:30am and 3:00pm. We will make every effort to start and end according to your school’s class period schedule.

Digital Platforms: Green-Wood can create a Zoom or Microsoft Teams link and send it to you for your program, or we can join your virtual classroom as a guest as long as we can screen-share.

Programs Overview: All programs feature an experienced Green-Wood educator leading your class in a PowerPoint study of images of Green-Wood monuments and additional multimedia sources. Programs are designed to build students’ historical thinking skills as well as teach American history content. We know the key in digital learning is engagement: our programs include multiple points for student response, brief activities, and interaction. Teachers report higher than average participation in our virtual programs than typical virtual school-based lessons.

Security: If Green-Wood generates a program meeting link, Green-Wood educators will make classroom teachers co-hosts, and only classroom teachers will be responsible for admitting their students into the program.
